Scott Whitley

Regional Director

The challenges facing financial advisors and branch managers aren’t ones Scott had to learn about vicariously. He walked the walk and talked the talk as an RJFS branch manager himself in Greenville, South Carolina, where he faced his own tests in managing client relationships, interacting with Raymond James headquar¬ters and doing the work of a financial advisor. “I can say ‘I understand what you are going through,’” he says, “and relate to the compliance, supervisory and sales issues I used to face.”

Scott believes that to carry out his supervisory duties he should interact with financial advisors as they interact with their clients. He wants to get to know branch managers, their practices, their goals and their ideal business models. Given that knowledge, he can better address any challenges and determine how Raymond James resources can be aligned to help.

Scott began his career in the financial services industry in 1989 when he opened a new branch office with Edward Jones. He joined Raymond James in 1995 as an independent contractor and has been part of the national sales team since 2001.
